A startup that aims to keep enterprises secure amid soaring use of AI has emerged from stealth with $180 million in funding.
The Series A round saw Glow, based in Tel Aviv and Palo Alto, achieve a $1.2 billion valuation.
The company, founded by Roi Tiger, a former Facebook vice president of engineering, labels itself an endpoint security specialist.
Tiger says Glow can play a pivotal role in helping enterprises overwhelmed by potential security threats in a chaotic environment, where regular use of AI on corporate devices has increased dramatically over the last year, according to Verizon research.
This dramatic rise means staff at many companies are now regularly deploying bots, assistants and agents to perform ever more complex tasks. But at the same time, the problems are mounting for security teams that can't keep up with the rapid rate of development.
Existing tools are not fit to address the challenges, Glow claims. A new security operating model -- which also uses AI -- to prevent problems rather than react to them is the answer, according to the vendor.

Glow's approach is to deploy specialized AI agents that continuously map the environment, analyze potential risks in real time using context and reasoning, and make decisions automatically, such as which software should be allowed into a business and which should be excluded.
By doing so, the potential threat is greatly reduced, but the main benefit is that this happens in real time, meaning there are no unnecessary delays in the work being conducted, according to the company.
Glow attributes the speed of its agents' work to running on Glow's central servers rather than the endpoint devices, ensuring the devices themselves don’t get overloaded.
Even though Glow has only recently emerged from stealth, it says it has deals with enterprise customers in the healthcare, retail, and financial services sectors, although it has not revealed names or numbers.
Glow said it will use the new funding to accelerate deployment of the technology in the U.S and bolster the team developing the software at Glow Labs, the company’s research arm.
The funding round was led by Sequoia, Cyberstarts, Greenoaks and Redpoint Ventures, with Index Ventures, Swish Ventures, Lux Capital, Operator Collective and Holly Ventures among the other participants.
