GitHubは、Googleの最新エージェント型コーディングモデル「Gemini 3.1 Pro」をGitHub Copilotに統合し、パブリックプレビューとして提供を開始した。このモデルは、効率的な「編集→テスト」のサイクルと高いツール精度に優れており、初期テストでは、各ベンチマークでより少ないツール呼び出しで強力な解決成功率を達成しているとされる。
この新モデルを利用できるのは、Copilot Pro、Copilot Pro+、Copilot Business、およびCopilot Enterpriseの各プランに加入しているユーザーである。利用時には、モデルピッカーから明示的にGemini 3.1 Proを選択する必要がある。対応する開発環境は、Visual Studio Code（チャット、ask、編集、エージェントの全モード）およびVisual Studio（エージェント、askモード）となる。
ただし、ロールアウトは段階的に行われるため、すぐに利用可能にならないユーザーもいる。また、Copilot EnterpriseおよびCopilot Businessプランでは、組織の管理者がCopilot設定内でGemini 3.1 Proを利用可能にするポリシーを有効化する必要がある。
GitHubは、この新モデルの導入により、開発者のコーディング作業の効率と質の向上を図っている。ユーザーは、GitHubの公式ドキュメントでCopilotで利用可能な全モデルを確認できる。さらに、利用体験に関するフィードバックはGitHub Communityを通じて共有することが推奨されている。

Gemini 3.1 Pro is now in public preview in GitHub Copilot - GitHub Changelog Back to changelog Gemini 3.1 Pro, Google’s latest agentic coding model, is now rolling out in GitHub Copilot. In early testing, this model excels on effective and efficient edit-then-test loops with high tool precision, achieving strong resolution success with fewer tool calls per benchmark.
Gemini 3.1 Pro will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise users.
You’ll be able to select the model in the model picker in:
Visual Studio Code in all modes: chat, ask, edit, agent
Visual Studio in all modes: agent, ask
Rollout will be gradual. Check back soon if you don’t see it yet.
Copilot Enterprise and Copilot Business plan administrators must enable the Gemini 3.1 Pro policy in Copilot settings.
